I write a weekly blog on bees and beekeeping. The Apiarist covers a wide range of topics, including the science and practice of beekeeping, honey bee biology, DIY for beekeepers, and disease management.
I am particularly interested in queen rearing, including encouraging beginners to try to rear their own queens. I think this is 'the most fun you can have in a bee suit', and that it will teach you more about bees and beekeeping that any book (or website 😉).
The Apiarist has been published for over 12 years, with weekly posts (every Friday afternoon) for the last 5+ years. Some posts are 'free to air', with more recent posts generally restricted to those who subscribe (free) to the weekly newsletter, or are paid sponsors of the site. Monthly and annual paid subscriptions are available.
